Breaking News: US Treasury Sec: More Turkish sanctions prepared if pastor not released

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that the U.S. was planning to introduce new sanctions on Turkey if pastor Brunson wasn't released. Meanwhile, President Trump said that Turkey hasn't turned out to be a great friend. 

The USD/TRY quickly rose more than 2000 pips with the initial market reaction and was last seen at 5.9450, where it was up 0.6% on the day.
