UK’s Q1 current account deficit shrinks less than estimates
The UK's current account deficit shrank in the first quarter, to GBP32.6 billion, or 6.9% of GDP, from a revised shortfall of GBP34 billion in the previous quarter, which accounted for a record 7.2% of GDP.
However, markets had predicted the deficit to narrow down to GBP-27.3billion in the first quarter.
