A data packed week ahead in the U.S. - UOB

Analysts at UOB Group suspect that this could be an action-filled week for the US with the Fed in action and GDP data on tap whilst the US corporate earnings reports season continues in full swing with particular interest on the US oil majors reporting at the end of the week.

"US politics will also take a big share of the US domestic attention with primaries taking place in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island on 26-27 April."

"Data wise, on Tuesday, durable goods orders for March will be released, alongside S&P/Case-Shiller home prices for February, Markits US services PMI as well as the Conference Board consumer confidence releases for April.

"On Wednesday, markets receive pending home sales for March."

"The highlight on Thursday would be the 1Q16 GDP advance estimate release. The usual weekly initial jobless claims for the week ending 23 Apri will also be rolled out."

"Finishing off the week on Friday, markets receive employment cost index for 1Q16, personal income/spending for March, Chicago PMI for April, as well as the University of Michigan consumer sentiment releases for April."

U.S, data review, new homes sales declining - Nomura

Analysts at Nomura offered a review for new home sales that declined by 1.5% to an annualized 511k in March, broadly in line with expectations (Nomura: 515k, Consensus: 520k), following a revised 519k sales in February (previously reported as 512k).
