ECB leaves interest rates unchanged
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The European Central Bank (ECB) in line with widespread expectations, left interest rates unchanged on Thursday.
The bank's benchmark lending rate remains at 0.05%, while the deposit rate on funds parked at the institution was left unchanged at -0.2%, which also serves as a threshold for sovereign bonds to qualify under the ECB’s QE program.
Focus now shifts to the ECB President Mario Draghi’s press conference scheduled at 8:30 a.m. ET. Draghi’s comments on Greece are likely to dominate the wires after the press conference begins.
